What we offer
Our shelter in Suva, Fiji, is a temporary home for between 100 and 150 furry friends. Despite our best efforts, the staggering number of stray animals in Suva is a constant reminder of the work that needs to be done.
Besides organising rescue missions for cases in need and taking care of our beautiful shelter animals, we also run a veterinary clinic at our shelter in Walu Bay and organise awareness activities and desexing clinics.
Animal Shelter and Adoptions
In our shelter in Walu Bay, we normally house anywhere between 100 and 150 cats and dogs. We provide basic medical attention to our shelter animals, deworm, deflea, and desex them before they are ready for adoption. If you are thinking about adopting a pet, congratulations, you made the right choice! Please get in touch!
Volunteer Opportunities
We are extremely grateful for our Fijian and international volunteers. Whether you would like to help us walk our dogs, are a trained veterinarian thinking of coming to Fiji, or a student who decided to get involved and help animals - we welcome you all! The more we are, the more help we can provide and the more lives we can save!
Our clinic at Walu Bay, Suva, provides a range of highly subsidised medical services. Click the link above to learn more about our services and fees.
Desexing Clinics
SPCA provides highly subsidised desexing services and welfare support for animals at our clinic in Suva. Through our Outreach Programme, we aim to take this service to target communities that otherwise have no access to veterinary services. This work is made possible through access to volunteer veterinarians, sponsorships and partnerships.
Rescue Missions
Animal cruelty is prevalent, and whenever we can intervene to save a dog or a cat, we try to do so. Our limited resources don’t allow us to attend to all cases, but please reach out to us via Facebook, phone or email and report animal cruelty and mistreatment of animals.
Awareness Outreach
One of the main issues perpetrating animal cruelty is a lack of awareness, which is why we organise a host of awareness activities and events to talk about pets, their needs, what mistreatment can cause, and how we can all help alleviate the fate of thousands of suffering strays. We visit schools, organise joint dog walks, or represent our pets in a stall at local events. If you would like us to come to your school or any other event, please get in touch!
